We will miss your smile, the sparkle in your eye and your dry wit Karen. I will remember what a good time we had at John and my wedding. I am proud to be a part of your beautiful family. I know you are at peace.

I remember going to Grandma’s house a lot as a kid and hanging out with her with a few stories sticking out in my mind. It’s an odd story but it’s one of my favorites because it always made everyone laugh. My favorite story is when she accidentally killed Emma’s pet fish because she fed it oatmeal instead of fish food because “we didn’t have any fish food and it looked the same.” It’s a silly story, but it always made us laugh. I remember we used to play in the backyard at her house and spend holidays over there and I would always look at her tiny spoon collection because I thought it was really cool. She also had a lot of nutcrackers she put at our Christmas to be extra festive. One year we spent the night there on Christmas Eve because our house was being built and that was when Santa brought me my huge Barbie castle, so that always stands out to me as one of my favorite Christmases. Another funny memory is when we went to the zoo with the whole family and she used one of the electric scooters, but she was really bad at driving it and especially bad at turns. She had been driving like a mad woman until she ran into a bench with kids sitting on it who luckily jumped and ran before she made contact. We all laughed so hard as she tried to flee the scene of the crime as fast as possible on the little scooter. It was even funnier because every time she tried to back up it was beep super loud when put in reverse, so everyone and their mom was laughing. After that, her cart driving skills were closely monitored, but it was still not great. I’m going to miss Grandma and spending time with her and I’m grateful for the 18 years we had together. I’m glad she was there for my whole childhood even up until and graduated so that she knows I’m going to be okay. I’m also glad she’s at peace with Grandpa and Cheryl now so they can all look down on us together. I like to believe she will be very happy to see them after all the years and to be able to watch her grandkids continue to grow up with her husband and her daughter. It’s never easy to say goodbye, but I know she’s still with us looking down and is more comfortable than she was here. I’ll miss her a lot and I love her and our memories.

Mom,
You will be greatly missed by all of us. We love you so much and you were an amazing mother, grandmother, wife and friend. I know you are at peace now and together with Dad and Cheryl.
I will always remember all that you did for us - you were the only parent to never miss an event (even practice!).
You daughter, Laura (Sue)
