Obituary of Charles V. Giudice

Charlie was born in Brooklyn, New York to Elsie and Joseph Giudice on November 17, 1931, 1932 or 1933, depending on the mood he was in and to keep you guessing. Charlie served in the U.S. Army in 1952, carried out a tour of duty in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1954. After serving our country and tired of being chased out of the Ozone Park Jefferson Diner, Charlie hit the dance clubs where he met and became love struck by a young lady, named Carol. Charlie and Carol fit each other like a glove on the dance floor and married in 1958.

He began his long career with American Airlines in 1958 where he worked in crew scheduling and pay audit at LaGuardia Airport in Flushing, New York. Charlie and Carol relocated with a growing American Airlines to Bedford, Texas in 1983, bringing them closer to long time co-workers and their families. As long as Charlie could still listen to Frank Sinatra by way of William B. Williams’ syndicated radio show and watch the New York Mets on TV, he was happier than a dandelion in a patch of grass, rekindling old friendships and making new lifelong friends in Texas. He retired from American Airlines in 1993, after 35 years, so he could dedicate himself to the search for the perfect “hard roll” somewhere in the state of Texas.

Charlie or “Chaz” as Carol affectionately called him was a real character and was instantly adored by anyone who met him or was within earshot of hearing him tell one of his memorable stories.  He was a fun-loving Father to his two girls Dawn and Dana and was the perfect playmate to his “sweetie” granddaughter, Kaycee and “good lookin’ “ grandson, Adam.

Charlie is survived by his dedicated and loving wife Carol, who especially during his later time in life ensured his every need was met and well-being never compromised; daughter Dawn Giudice of W. Hempstead, NY; daughter Dana Sanders-Jeffreys and Son-in-law Darin Jeffreys of Bedford; and grandchildren Kaycee Sanders, Adam Sanders & Brooklyn Jeffreys all of Bedford.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, 10am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Road, Bedford.

Charlie will be interred with full military honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
