It was a sad day when our LGA CrewSchedulers had to move to Dallas. We were a close family. As a new stewardess, I remember going to the hangar to see Charlie to ask for help with my schedule. Charlie always made you feel as though he had done something for you when he’d say “you know I would do it for you if I could” when he had to say no. Always empathetic to your plight! When I had relocated to DFW, I visited with Charlie at his ‘office’. I had to laugh when I saw that he had decorated it with New York memorabilia. He was the best! And I am grateful to have known him. Thank you, Charlie! Ciao, caro amico, riposi in pace

"If there is light in the soul,
there will be beauty in the person." ~ ~ Chinese proverb
Even through my brief encounters with Charlie (meeting in person & by phone), I could recognize the "sweet soul", within.
Thank you, Carol, for sharing some of your wonderful stories of those "early dating-years" and your special life together.
Blessings & comfort to you and your family. (especially Dana, Dawn, Brooklyn, Kaycee & Adam)

Uncle Charlie was an incredible man . His infectious smile and zest for living made him the life of the party wherever he went.
Uncle Charlie would always ask you a million questions about YOU when he was in a conversation and always made you feel that you were the most important person in the world to him. He will be truly missed by the entire Schwerer Family . May God Rest His Soul . We love you Uncle Charlie ❣️❣️❣️

Oh Daddy.....literally the funniest guy I knew and greatest story teller of all time. Worst part is I grew up thinking half the stories you told were true. I remember, like it was yesterday, as a little girl sitting with you on that god awful orange/yellow/green/black pattern couch just coming up with funny stuff to make each other laugh until we had tears running down our face. Of course you thought it was even funnier to wipe those tears on my shirt, sigh. I look back now and realize why Mommy was always irritated with you; you were always the fun parent and she was stuck being the authoritarian, sorry Mom, Daddy couldn't help it. EEEEEEVERYONE Loved Charlie, all my cousins LOVED Uncle Charlie. Its nearly impossible for one to say Charlie without smiling yourself - ironic isn't it? You made everyone smile and that smile lives on forever when your name is mentioned; what a great legacy Daddy - well done!
You worked hard and played hard but when you meant business you meant business. Always a class act, sharp dresser and could care less what anyone thought while you always preferred sitting around BSing with the women rather than shootin' poop with the guys. I mean, I see that as brilliant strategy and MUCH more entertaining!
Thank you SO MUCH for being the greatest Papa in the world. The kids adored you; possibly because they saw you as a playmate, and that same fun guy that their Mom had as a kid, but as you are well aware they always had the utmost respect for you.
Don't worry about......."for Christ sake, has anyone seen my Wife?" we will take good care of her just like she took such good care of you all these years.
I'll Miss you Daddy but I have a trillion of the fondest and most humorous memories and stories to last me a lifetime but most importantly I have the very best memento of all, a son who looks and acts just like you. Rest in Peace Daddy, you had a damn good run xoxo
