To Katie and all the Savage family, I just wanted to say that you have been and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I miss talking to Roy and seeing him and kidding around with him. Hearing Roy's voice was always comforting and relaxing. I will miss his stories and recollections on his experiences. He was the only person that has ever called me "Sport" and that probably ever will.
Roy Savage left behind a tremendous legacy of service and compassion to Bedford and everyone who had the privilege to get to know him. He has set the example for the rest of us to follow. Roy, thank you for everything. Thank you for the encouragement. Thank you for the emotional support. Thank you for your courage and strength and fortitude to serve. Thank you for your honesty and humor. Thank you for the legacy that you have left behind. Thank you for being you.
God bless you, Roy. I will never be able to pick up a chain saw or cut wood without thinking of you.
Your friend,
Michael

Roy and I served together for less than a year on the Bedford Street Improvement & Economic Development commission. His commitment to public service was unwavering, and I will fondly remember him as a patient and wise voice on our team. We will miss him. My best wishes and prayers are with you all today.

Roy was an amazing man, Masonic Brother, and most of all Friend! I valued his wisdom, guidance, and values. His commitment to our community was very clear in his dedication to the city through his service on the council and his involvement to the Santa Program(s); Santa USA & then to Santa’s Texas Team.
Roy, thank you for being there and making my life Richer! May God comfort Roy’s family and continue to Bless them. His legacy will continue on!
