Obituary of Carolyn Elizabeth Moore

Carolyn “Cara” Elizabeth Moore died peacefully in her Colleyville, TX home on 1/25/2020 at the age of 73. Carolyn is survived by her son, Mark South, son Michael South and daughter-in-law Jessica South, her stepdaughter Susan Ruiz and stepdaughter, Julia Christian and husband Phillip Christian. She has five grandchildren, Zoe Ruiz, Gavin and Aidan South, Samuel and Caitlyn Christian. She is also survived by her sister Sandy Huddleston and her brother Mike Insall. She was preceded in death by her father & mother, Herman and June Insall and loving husband of 30 years, George Moore. Carolyn was born on September 26, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Herman & June Insall. She graduated from Harlandale High School in 1964 and studied briefly at San Antonio College. Carolyn worked at making a home and raising her children for many years. In 1988, Carolyn returned to school to study Human Relations/Organizational Communication at University of Texas at Arlington and then on to earn a Master’s degree from TCU in 1992. “Caradidit” was her calling in life. She wanted to do so much despite the Parkinson’s disease that was diagnosed in 1992. There are certain words that will forever remind us of her; “creative”, “tenacious”, “feisty” and even “stubborn”. Carolyn was accomplished at writing, poetry, painting, portrait sketching and just simply coming up with the most amazing designs for any occasion using whatever materials she could get her hands on. Carolyn used her creativity to make every person in her life feel important and special. She was a generous woman who loved Jesus and her family and her friends with her whole heart. Carolyn was an active member of Martin United Methodist for over 40 years, where she met her late husband, George and made lifelong friendships that kept her full of joy. Into her final days she said, “there is still so much that I want to do.” What an amazing spirit of a life well lived. She will be missed by so many. A celebration of Carolyn’s life is scheduled for Sunday, February 2nd, 2020 at Martin United Methodist Church. We will start the celebration at 12:30 with a meal and fellowship. Carolyn loved a good party, so please join if you can. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carolyn’s life.
