Obituary of Howard E. Thompson

Graveside services for Howard E Thompson, 92, of North Richland Hills will be 1:30p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK. Family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00p.m. Monday, February 3rd at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in North Richland Hills. Howard passed peacefully from his earthly life on January 27, 2020. He was born in Edmond, Oklahoma on November 26, 1927 to Homer and Viola Thompson. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 when the Korean War broke out and served until 1954. He attended Central State College in Edmond where he received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree. Howard married Norma Johnson in 1959. They had two children, Bradley and Gina. As a family, they visited all 48 states and Canada. Howard worked at Bell Helicopter in Hurst for 25 years. Howard loved playing bridge, dominoes, ballroom dancing, hunting in Colorado with his brother Charles and snow skiing until the age of 84 years young. Howard is proceeded in death by his parents, sister, Daphne Van Nort, brothers Charles, Donald and Chester Thompson and granddaughter Kailey Thompson. Survivors: Son – Bradley Thompson (Kelly), Daughter – Gina Thomas (Scott) Grandchildren – Ryan Smith (Neely), Calvin Thompson, Jennifer Hostetler (Jared) Lorin Kalpic (Antonio), Jared Thomas, Justin Thomas. Great-grandchildren – Vale Smith, Eleanor Hostetler and Lake Smith Many special nephews, neices and friends. He was much loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
