Obituary of Janice M Ard

Janice Marguerite (Castleberry) Ard October 14 1937 - January 23 2020 Born in Gainesville Texas to Charles Jackson and Elnora Margueritte Castleberry. The family later relocated to Dallas where they would reside during her formative years. After a chance meeting at New Years Eve event she met Richard Ard. Though it was only a short courtship, they knew it was something meant to be for a lifetime. It was that February 1 1956 they exchanged “I Do’s”. In no time their family flourished as quickly as their love did for each other. It was clear that family and family values was something they were united on. She was the steadfast center of the household and knew all too well how far reaching this impact could be. As the children grew, many of their friends considered the Ard household a second home. It was complete with a Mother that had compassion and understanding from a realistic / real world position, and a Father that possessed pragmatic wisdom. An abundance of laughs, good times and feelings of what a home should be grew from this home. Jan had a special way with everyone from her sense of humor and sly wit to how she made them feel at ease and appreciated. She was the genuine legitimate article, the real McCoy. A wife with a lifetime of love for her husband. A mother, not only her own, but to others that were in need of one. She was also a friend of the kind we should all embody; looking out for the highest good, and loving someone enough to tell the truth with love. As the years past and the family grew into families of their own, she renewed her faith in the risen Lord. It was in her good fortune that she had the opportunity to learn from some a few of the spiritual giants of our time. God had a plan for Jan and knew times ahead would be a testing of her faith. The unforeseen loss of family members brought heartache, but did not impact her faith in Jesus Christ. She held fast in knowing that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.“ This solidified her faith so much so that she passed it onto others as the opportunity arose. She never met a stranger and was always willing to share a laugh. Our days are now less brighter without her. The good news is we will see her again. For her, it will only be a moment until we are there. May Gods good grace and mercy go with you all.
