Obituary of Holland Forest Reed, Jr.
Holland Forest Reed, Jr., 92 of Whitney, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at his residence. He was born to the late Holland Forest Reed, Sr. and Inez Boyd Reed on May 5, 1927 in Quinlan, Texas.
Holland proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Kroger Foods as a Transportation Manager and retired after 43 years of employment. Holland was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ and will be missed by many friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his daughter, Robbyn and Donnie Payne of Irving, Texas; his stepsons, Lloyd and Debbie Chaffin of Aurora, Texas, Bill and Linda Chaffin of Palestine, Texas, Lawrence and Paula Chaffin of Tyler, Texas, Randy and Patti Necessary of Irving, Texas and Danny and Anola Necessary of Whitney, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 wives, Kathryn Reed, Lorina Reed and Ellen Louise Reed; his daughter, Holly Ann Reed; also by his brothers, Howard Reed, Bill Reed and Harold Reed.
Services to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2019 in the Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Irving, Texas.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time, Friday, August 16, 2019 at Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel.
