Obituary of Mary Klinke Engelhardt

Mary Klinke Engelhardt, age 83, of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away on June 3rd, 2019 at Community Hospice of Texas in Fort Worth.  She was born April 21st, 1936 in Oak Park, Illinois to parents who preceded her in death, Henry Gustav Klinke and Marion Cousins. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Klinke Raths (Donald); her three children, David Engelhardt (Beth), Robert Engelhardt (Carole), Virginia Goodenow-Schirf (Mary Catherine); her seven grandchildren, Kale, Erin, Atticus, Foster, Pierce, Connor, Rebecca and one great grandchild, Lexi.

Mary enjoyed a long career as an elementary school teacher, studied at Gulf Park College and graduated from Indiana University. In her retirement, she relished time with family, socializing, playing canasta, attending sporting events for her grandchildren, was a voracious reader and traveled extensively – both with family and with her long-time friends known as the Grapes.  She will be missed by her many friends and neighbors and remembered fondly for her love of hosting events, attending live theater and visiting museums.

A celebration of her life is Saturday, June 8th between 2:30 and 4 p.m. at the Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 8525 Mid-Cities Boulevard, N. Richland Hills, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Central – www.missioncentraltx.org a charity dedicated to improving the lives of others by providing immediate needs for food, clothing and shelter and then additional programming to help with long-term stability and life altering tools.
