Obituary of Zada Ray Makins

Zada Ray Makins was born on December 5, 1929 and went to be with the Lord and her husband, Bill on March 28, 2019. 

Zada was born to Jasper and Viola Williams in Iola, Texas and was the youngest of 9 children and had an identical twin sister, Glada.  

Zada lived a full life, was a loving wife to Bill for 56 years, loving mother to her son, Brian and friend to many. 

Early in her working career she was employed by Prudential as an underwriter and was a receptionist for an orthodontist in Houston for many years.  Zada loved to read, but her true passion was playing golf. She loved her job as a course marshal at numerous Houston area golf courses.

The last eight months, Zada resided at Ellery Arbor Memory Care in Colleyville.  She loved participating in bingo, dominoes, arts and crafts and enjoyed attending church there. Zada’s family would like to express their thanks to all the caregivers at Ellery Arbor for the loving care they gave Zada during her time there.

 Zada is survived by her son, Brian and his wife Belinda, grandson Greg and wife Melanie, twin sister Glada, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Zada will be held at Whites Chapel United Methodist Church on Friday April 5, 2019 at 10am in Grace Chapel with her inurnment at the Columbariam immediately after the memorial. 

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Zada’s name to White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 S. White Chapel Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092
