We just learned of Stan's homegoing by calling to see why his mail was being returned. We rejoice that he is now home safely with Shirley and other loved ones who had gone on before. Stan was a great friend. He welcomed us into the fellowship of Hutchinson's First Baptist Church, and encouraged us greatly in our special ministry to wounded teen age girls. He served on our Board of Directors of Heart Ministries, Inc. / Victory Village Christian Academy, and we remember him as a man of God, with great wisdom and compassion. He and Shirley took two of our girls into their own home and cared for them when we had an emergency because of a dormitory fire. He continued supporting our work as long as he was able, up until just a short while before he went to Heaven. The world needs more people like Stan and Shirley Cover. May God bless their memory, and their family, and we will always be grateful that they were part of our lives and ministry.

Our hearts were saddened to hear of the passing of Pastor Stan. He ministered to my parents, Harold and Marie Cox from 2008 - 2011 when they lived at Franklin Park (now named Atrium). He also was there for our family when dad passed away in 2009 and for us when mother, passed in 2011. He was always a source of His love and light and we will never forget him. May God comfort your family in this time of grief. Sandy and Abdy Chonody

I lost a special friend and mentor today. Rev. Stanley Cover stepped from time into eternity to be reunited with his beloved wife, Shirley and The Loving Higher Power whom he had faithfully served his entire life.
Every day Stan lived a life that defined integrity. He preached The Jesus he served with his feet, hands, smile and heart without hesitation, using words only when necessary. I had the privilege of serving under his leadership, on staff at a Baptist Church. He taught me that being a minister was not a position of authority, power or prestige but a calling to serve others. Honest to the core, committed without reserve, his down home humor and friendly spirit made him one of the most real people with whom anyone could ever hope to cross paths. His favorite joke was to ask why his finger was like a lemon pie...”they both got meringue (my ring) on them.”
I saw him for the last time just before Christmas. We laughed, cried, embraced and kissed as only a student could do with his mentor, teacher and friend. He knew his days were limited yet his memory and typical humor overflowed in unlimited abundance. He wore his special Batman pajamas just for my visit. Tired, but free of pain that day, we celebrated past days of lessons, prayer, study, joy and shenanigans. Lots of shenanigans. And endless laughter. Oh, the laughter, the memories...though it had been years since we had last been together, it was as if had not been apart for a week.
He knew we would not see each other again this side of Eternity, but encouraged me...assuring me that with our next meeting there would be no tears. When we shared our last embrace he whispered, “I’ll see you in ‘The Morning’!”
Love you, Stan. Need to shed a few more tears, but I WILL see you in ‘The Morning!’
Much love, Steve and Lynn Stockley

To Tim and Jennifer:
What a memory your father and mother has gifted to us. Through the years his encouragement and friendship remains in our families.
Thanks be to God for blessing us with them.
What a ministry they shared. Will always be encouraged by the letter of introduction Stan sent in our behalf and unknown to us, to the North Carolina church when Treva and I moved there after being drafted into the military.
The pastor shared that letter with us.
With respect,
Jim Dawson
