Obituary of William Jay Roles

Celebration of Life will be held Friday January 11, 2019 2pm at Forest Ridge Memorial Park Chapel, 8525 Mid Cities Blvd. North Richland Hills, Texas 76182.

William Jay Roles, 54, passed away on Dec 7, 2018 at home in North Richland Hills, TX after battling cancer for 15 months.

He was born to Billy R. and Lillian Eleanor Roles on Dec 24, 1963 in Port Arthur, TX. His youth was spent camping, traveling to West Virginia, fishing, and working with his dad in TV repair, home improvement, and automotive projects. In 1982, he graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School. He pursued a career in Automotive Technology and graduated from Universal Technical Institute in Houston, TX on Dec. 7, 1984. He held various positions throughout his career of automotive technician, shop foreman, service manager, and business owner.

Jay had a multitude of interests/talents. He was the best "Mr. Fix It" or "MacGyver." He loved to ponder difficult problems and solve/repair it. Anything Sci-Fi, automotive, woodworking, RVing, and home remodeling related was his entertainment. He liked to have more than one project in progress to his wife's dismay. His personality was quiet and unassuming. For those close to him, his dry wit and creative pranks will forever prevail.

Jay is survived by his wife of 30 yrs., Monica Poland Roles and daughters, Cheyenne and Ciara Roles of North Richland Hills, TX. Mother, Lillian Eleanor Jarrett Roles and nephew, Sean Patton of Port Neches, TX. Half- sister, Kathy Roles Facemyre of Dunbar, WV.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Billy Russell Roles and sister, Lisa Roles Patton.
