Obituary of Juanita Frances Weston
Juanita Frances Zipper Weston, 90, peacefully passed away September 6, 2018 at home, where she was lovingly cared for by her family.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am Friday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview Dr., North Richland Hills. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel, 8525 Mid Cities Blvd., North Richland Hills with a 7:00pm Rosary service. Interment will take place following the Mass at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.
Juanita Frances Zipper Weston was born in Muenster, Texas on 11-4-1927. She is the daughter of Joseph Zipper and Josephine Ann Burger, and is the last of 6 siblings to be called home to the Lord.
Juanita attended St. Edward’s Catholic Grade School (Dallas) and graduated from St. Anthony’s High School (Long Beach, CA) in 1945. She worked many years for the Phone Company in Dallas in the Directory Department. In 1950 she met her future husband, Delbert (Del) Vincient Weston Sr. in her parent’s home while Del cooked a meal to demo cookware he sold door-to-door. Del took an instant liking to Juanita and asked her parents if he could take her out for a coke that day. They married in 1951 and were married 44 years before Del’s passing in 1995.
Del and Juanita bought a home in Richland Hills in 1961, where they raised their 4 children (3 daughters and 1 son). Juanita remained in that house for 55 years until she moved in with her oldest daughter and son-in-law in late 2016. During her marriage, Juanita worked with Del in their family-owned automobile and travel trailer business for many years until they retired. Following Del’s death, Juanita worked for 15 years as a bookkeeper for a local family-owned hardwood flooring supply company, where she was well liked and treated with great respect.
Juanita was a faithful servant of God, raising the children in the Catholic Church and school system. She was a loving devoted wife who cared for Del through later years of illness until his death. She was an active member of The Catholic Daughters organization at St. John’s, where she held multiple volunteer positions. She was a cheerful giver of her time and money. Juanita is loved and admired by her family for her life-long demonstration of her Catholic Faith and the love and joy she brought to all. She rarely spoke an unkind word and was loved by all that knew her.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Josephine Zipper; brother, Leo, Pat, Virgil and Jerry Zipper; and sister, Virginia Zipper Kneisel.
Juanita is survived by her 3 daughters and son, Deanna (Joseph) McCambridge, Gayla (Ed) Hightower, Delbert V. Weston Jr., and Barbara Weston Lozzi; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
