Jimmy Nance

Obituary of Jimmy E. Nance

Jimmy Eugene Nance, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, former Norman, OK resident, fought the good fight and finished his race, while keeping the faith on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in Bedford, TX at the age of 86.

A celebration of his life will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at Forest Ridge Funeral Home/Memorial Park Chapel, with Rev. Jim D. Chandler officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the memorial chapel.

Jimmy is survived by a legacy of faith and family enveloping a wife of 67 years, 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and counting.

Born November 20th, 1931 in Mannford, Oklahoma to James Monroe and Verda Mae (Wallace) Nance.  He was reborn in April of 1971 and learned that Grace is the greatest gift.  He joined the military in 1950, married Patricia Earnestine Russell on May 20, 1951, and promptly shipped out to Korea.  After returning home from serving his country, he lived and worked at various jobs in Tulsa, Moore, and Purcell, OK.

The family moved to Wakita at Christmas time in 1967 where Jim worked at the Sun Oil Gas Plant first as an operator and then as Plant Manager. He eventually retired from Kerr McGee/Sun Oil Company in Norman, OK.  He was a faithful member of Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, OK. His loved ones hold a multitude of memories made possible by the steadfastness of a man dedicated to God and committed to his family.  Some of our favorite memories will be shared through Facebook posts in the days ahead.

Jimmy and Patricia Nance were married 67 years. The last ten years may have been robbed of memories by this terrible disease, but Jim's love for Pat endured. If you so desire, join us in honoring their love and devotion by making donations here:
