Obituary of June A Bilz

June A. Bilz of Bedford, TX passed suddenly March 25th following complications from diabetes.  Born on November 18th, 1941 in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of Gladys Cobb and Norman Backes.  She was a graduate of Lancaster High School (1959) and Erie Community College North Campus (1978).  

She will be remembered by her daughters, Suzan Mayberry; Jill Fowler; and son, John Jankowski. Sisters, Norma Lawrence, Mary Jane Irish, and brother Henry Backes.  Grandsons, Justin Stein; Nathan Stein; Travis Mayberry; Kyle Mayberry; Jarod Jankowski, Jakob Jankowski and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years to Henry Bilz.

June was a member of the Bedford City Senior Citizens center where she loved to do ceramics and take trips with her many friends.  Before retirement, June worked in nursing 20 years in the DFW area while simultaneously running a family business (Wedgewood Rental) with her husband Hank. June’s favorite pastime was gardening.

 June was a driven and passionate person and was undoubtedly met in death by Hank, her “true love”.
