Obituary of Randall C. Jones

Randall C. Jones, 92, left his earthly home March 12, 2018 for his eternal home and joined his bride of 63 years, Coreen (Carlene) Jones whom preceded him in death in Nov. 2015. Randall was born Aug. 24, 1925 on the family farm near Enloe Texas to Jennie and Oscar Jones. He was the 7th child of 14. He is survived by his children, Ronnie Jones and wife, Dea, of Lake Dallas, Rhonda Denman and husband, Chip of Waxahachie, Rojenna Sewell and husband Kyle of Bedford, Reynold Jones and wife, Beckie of Bedford and Renda Hawkins of Euless. 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, a sister, Elizabeth Beasley of Dallas and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Randall was a veteran of WW ll and had a great love for his country. He was a graduate of East Texas State University where he earned a Bachelors and Masters in Education. He served time in Texarkana as the County Superintendent working with students with vision and hearing difficulties. He was a teacher and Principal in Red Lick, Whitewright, and Bells, Tx. In the late 60's, he moved his family to Euless where he resided for over 50 years. He was a teacher, Principal and Vice Principal in the HEB ISD schools. He taught at Euless Jr High and was a Vice Principal there as well as Principal for Stonegate Elem. and Vice Principal at Central Jr. High. He loved children and all his career was dedicated to teaching and educating students, who many have gone on to be doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers and police officers.

Randall retired in 1984 and spent many years working in his garden, devoting time to grandchildren, visiting friends and relatives and sharing his stories of growing up during The Great Depression and his years in education. He loved meeting people and passing out his cross pennies and bringing a smile to everyone he met. He had a strong commitment to family and a great  faith in the Lord. He was a long-time, faithful member of First Baptist Church of Euless.

He founded the Camp Shed Cemetery Board and served many years as the President and was instrumental in getting Historical Markers through the State of Texas in place at both Camp Shed and Mt. Joy Texas Cemeteries.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Camp Shed Cemetery Fund, Enloe Texas Bank, Cooper, Texas or the Randall and Coreen Jones Education Foundation, at any Wells Fargo Bank.
