Obituary of Mary Cortes

Mary Cortes, aged 78, died peacefully surrounded by her family after a 15 year battle with cancer on Monday February 19, 2018 in Bedford, Texas. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, George, and her five children Laura, Gus (Trish), Beatrice (JP), Patrick (Kristi) and Mark, as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mary was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Mary and George moved to the United States in 1964 where they became American citizens raising their family in the HEB area. Mary never met a stranger. She was a champion of the underdog and was a beautiful soul who will be missed by all. Visitation Friday, February 23 from 6-8 PM at Memorial Park Chapel, 8525 Mid Cities Blvd, North Richland Hills, TX. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 11 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3713 E. Harwood Road, Bedford, TX. Mary's life was greatly enhanced with many blood transfusions. In lieu of flowers please consider donating blood to your local blood bank center.
