Obituary of Alan Engisch
Engisch, Alan C., 78, of Watauga, TX, passed away January 21, 2018. Born July 25, 1939, in Elizabeth, NJ, Alan lived in Lake Hopatcong, NJ, until moving to Watauga in 1995.
Alan studied industrial design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art. After he served in the U.S. Air Force, performing intelligence work in Germany, he earned a BA in English from Montclair State and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He had a long career as a manufacturing engineer, including at Cooperative Industries in NJ, and Bell Helicopter in TX. In 2004, he returned to art, creating minimalist, optical, and color ground works using a spreadsheet program. He exhibited in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, including the Texas Artists Coalition Small Works Show in December 2017. Alan was an active member of the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers. He completed the 2017 Rockledge Rumble 15K in November. In December, he and his wife Tosca celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Alan was a kind, brilliant, and gentle man who was loved by so many and will be missed beyond words.
A celebration of his life will be held on March 17, 10:30 a.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Freeway, Hurst, TX 76053.

Alan is preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Bennett Engisch; his father Alfred O. Engisch. He is survived by: wife, Tosca; sister, Joyce; daughters, Kathrin (Mark Rich) Nicole (Charles Johnson), Petra (William Evans); and son, David; grandchildren, Louisa Rich, Anthony and Nadia Johnson, Pawel and Niamh Evans; nieces Kristen and Juliet Grable; and nephews Paul and Michael Grable; as well as many other family and friends.
The family offers special thanks to the stroke team at Medical City Fort Worth.
