Obituary of Billy "Pete" Richard Wakeley
Billy Richard (Pete) Wakeley passed away January 10, 2018 in Euless, TX. He was 84.
Pete was born on June 3, 1933 in Fort Worth, TX to his parents, T.R. and Billie Wakeley. He served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1952 and attended North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas). He married the love of his life Julia Terry Aug. 25, 1956. The Wakeleys moved to Euless in 1962 where Pete worked in sales and Julia worked for the City of Euless Parks and Recreation Department.
Pete was a fun-loving flirt who loved a good meal, a good deal and good times with large family and numerous friends. He always remembered names and never met a stranger. A resident of Euless, Texas for 55 years, he and his wife raised four children and immensely loved the dozens of grandkids and great grandchildren that came along later.
Pete is survived by his children Terry and Paul Reynolds of Levelland, TX; Kelly and Marty Esposito of Robinson, TX; Casey Jutras of Seattle, WA; and Dirk Wakeley of Canyon City, CO; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Julia and his brother, Travis Wakeley.
A memorial for Pete will take place on Monday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, Hurst. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
