Obituary of Shirley J Volkert

Shirley Jean Volkert passed to her eternal life with her Lord and Savior, on December 13, 2017.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, North Richland Hills.  Interment, Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.  Family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, Hurst. In lieu of flowers, please remember Shirley with a donation to the Arthritis Foundation

Shirley was born in Ridgeway, Illinois, where she grew up and married the love of her life at the age of 22. Bill and Shirley were married 61 years at the time of Bill’s death in 2016. They moved to Texas in 1970, where they raised their family and lived the rest of their lives. She doted on her grand dogs and grand cats. She had a quick wit and a beautiful smile. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. May she rest in eternal peace. .

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents Joseph and Marie Suttner; and siblings Bill, Kay and Charles. Shirley is survived by her daughter and daughter-in-law, Nancy and Sandra Volkert. She was a loving, sweet person and an amazing mother.
