Obituary of Charlotte Wells Ryder
Charlotte Wells Ryder, a resident of Jupiter, FL and formerly of South Lyme, CT passed away on July 17, 2017 in Grapevine, TX.
Charlotte was born in Springfield, MA on Nov. 8, 1926 to the late Lyman A. Wells and Marie Haigis Wells. Charlotte graduated from Classical High School in 1944 and Wellesley College in 1948. On Nov. 27, 1947, she married her high school sweetheart, Phillips H. Ryder. While raising her three children she worked for New England Telephone Co. in the Boston area. After residing in Weston, MA, she moved to FL in 1989. Though small in stature, she possessed a large intellect and developed interests in politics, knitting, reading, and following the stock market.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Phillips in 2010 after caring for him during his long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. A dedicated and loving wife and mother, Charlotte leaves behind her three beloved children: a daughter, Sandra McCarron and late husband Francis, sons Charles and wife Barbara and David and wife Ann, seven grandchildren: Christopher McCarron (Helene), Craig McCarron, Megan Garcia (Joseph), Allison and Scott Ryder, Emily Perlmeter (Cody), and Andrew Ryder and six great grandchildren: Helene, Andrew, Charlotte, and Ryder McCarron, and Alexandra and Jessica Garcia.
