K.R. “Bill” Simmonds, 93, passed peacefully from this earthly life into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, July 1st, 2018.

Bill was born in Altus, OK. to Harry and Edna Simmonds. He graduated from Levelland High School.  Bill joined the U.S. Marines and served until 1946. He moved to Dallas where he met and married the love of his life, Marcelle, in 1947. They were married 67 years.  They had two children and made their home in Dallas, eventually moving to Hurst, then to North Richland Hills.

Bill served Dallas County as a Constable in Precinct 7. He found his true calling in sales, which led him to the former Porter Burgess Company where he met and befriended many of the business owners. Some of these people and their families became lifelong friends. He and Marcelle were Shaklee Coordinators for many years before retiring. Bill was part of a special group of men and women who met almost daily at the First In Hurst, where bonds were formed and lives relived.  Bill was an active resident of the Villas at Bear Creek for 14 years prior to moving to Meadow Lakes Retirement Community. He also was a past president of Westcliff Lion’s Club, and member for many years of a loving Care Group in his church.

First, and foremost, Bill was a godly, Christian man who never, ever met a stranger and wanted to be sure everyone knew of the grace and salvation of Jesus Christ. Even in his last months he made sure to talk to his caregivers about their salvation.  Bill left a lasting legacy for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents and two brothers.

Bill was loved, adored, and respected by daughter, Raeanne, and husband Rock, son Keith and wife, Ruby; grandchildren, Joel Keith, Brian, Parker, Sarah, Colin, Logan, and three great-grandchildren, Justin, Blake, and Jonathan; extended family, and many, many friends.
